History

Early Life

Billions of years ago, the technologically-advanced extraterrestrial race known equally the Watchers decided it was their duty to help the universe'due south less advanced races. • The Watcher was one of the characters featured in Series A of the Marvel Value Stamps issued in the 1970s.

Trivia

• Due to Uatu's tendency to interfere, his friend Blue Marvel came to jokingly nickname him "the Doer" behind his back, despite knowing Uatu's ability could brand him enlightened of that fact. Despite the nickname'due south teasing purpose, it made Uatu smile.^[72]
• Once, Uatu refused to take a slice of rock from Lockjaw'due south peel flap, stating that he was "forbidden to interfere."^[73] This subsequently turned out to be a correct judgment, every bit otherwise the Thing would've been severely injure or even killed.
• Out of all the possible What if? scenarios, Uatu purposely avoided watching i: What if he had not interfered the day Galactus came to Earth? Uatu's father, Ikor, forced him to scout information technology, and Uatu learned that the Fantastic Four would have defeated Galactus anyway. Furthermore, Uatu's interference prevented Reed Richards from developing engineering science confronting Galactus that he would later repurpose to brand the world a paradise.^[74]
